"I will remember the statistics: the number of reported rape cases that actually are filed, and that lead to a conviction, is sobering in light of countervailing statistics that rapes are under-reported, and are very rarely falsely reported. I felt deep empathy for the victims who were disbelieved, shamed, and aggressively questioned, but whose evidence was not collected or was underutilized. "
